Joseph “Al” Ross

Joseph “Al” Ross, age 86, of Quincy, passed away on May 15, 2018.

Beloved husband of 47 years to Maureen (Kelly) Ross of Quincy.  Loving father of Kelly Ann Ross of Braintree and Chrissy Knox and her husband Bill of Quincy. Devoted Papa of Scott J. McMahon, Joseph Knox and Bridget Knox.  Al  is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Bessie Ross.  Caring brother of the late Rosemary Peterson, Lillian Marcellus, Teresa Ottiano and Donald Ross. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Al was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Frontier.  He worked as a Finished Carpenter for The Frank B. Curry Company and later for MBTA. Al was an avid sailor and loved being near the ocean.  He was a past commodore and life member of the Squantum Yacht Club and was a long time member of the Commodores Club of America.  His main passion in life was spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandchildren.  Al took pride in family Holidays and special family events.  He will be sadly missed by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 1-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:15 PM.
