Joseph A. Shields, Jr.

Shields, Jr, Joseph A. of Hingham, passed away December 4, 2011. Beloved husband of 69 years to Anne B. (Bauer) Shields. Loving father of Penny Shields of E. Harwich. Brother of the late Marie Daly. Uncle of Donna Degen of North Carolina and Maureen Carretta of Indiana. Joseph worked for over 30 years as an architect for General Services Administration in Washington, D.C. He had lived for many years in Springfield, Virginia before moving to Linden Ponds 2 1/2 years ago. He was also a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham on Friday December 9, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s name to Linden Ponds Student Scholarship Fund, 300 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, MA 02043. Att: Rhoda Horgan.
