Greene, Joseph A. of Quincy, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2011. Beloved husband of Joanne M. (Borek) Greene of Quincy and the late Ann M. (McDonnell) Greene. Devoted father of Joanne Keenan and her husband Thomas of Weymouth, Kevin Greene of Quincy, Julie Vialpando and her husband Mark of Quincy, Michael Greene of Quincy and Kristin McDonough and her husband Patrick of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather (Pop) of KerriAnne, Joseph (USMC), and James Vialpando, Ryan, Brendan and Sean Keenan and Matthew McDonough. Loving brother of Mary DuBeau of Mashpee, John Greene of South Boston, Rita Sullivan of Centerville, William Greene of Canton and Herbert Greene of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joseph lived in Dorchester before moving to Quincy 45 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Joe worked as a food service engineer for many years and loved his work. He started with Morris Gordon & Sons and retired from U.S. Food Service in 2003. Joe volunteered as a special needs bowling league coordinator at St. Ann’s Bowling Alley for over 41 years. He loved the beach, traveling and going to the Quincy YMCA. Most of all, Joe’s passion was being an active grandfather and attending the activities and sporting events of his grandchildren. He was well known and well loved. He will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 3-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2011, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha’s Parish, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Joseph Greene Memorial Fund, c/o Eastern Bank, 731 Hancock Street, Quincy, Ma 02170 or Spectrum Health Systems, Clinical Stabilization Services, 861 Main Street, Weymouth, Ma 02190.
