Joseph A. Cummings

Mr. Joseph A. Cummings of Hanover, passed away on October 10, 2019.

Joe was a software developer for many years  and was working for Dassault Solidworks in Waltham, for the past 14 years.  A model railroad enthusiast, he was a regular contributor to the Modelers Life podcast accumulating a wide range of friends., fans, and acquaintances. He will be sorely missed by those who regularly looked forward to hearing his insights, playful banter and opinions on various topics. Joe was a 1984 graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School in Watertown, attended New England School of Photography where he majored in Advertising, attended Clark University majoring in web and software development. Joe was also a New England sports fan. loved photography, jamming out on his guitar, and always enjoyed spending time with Ted the dog taking him to Castle Island and many parks.

Beloved son of the late William and Elizabeth (Ferri) Cummings.

Former husband and best friend of Kimberly Tompkins Cummings of Hull. They were the exception to the rule.

Survived by Ted, the dog. Son in law of of Ann Tompkins of Hingham and the late Michael Tompkins. Brother in law of Michael Tompkins of Weymouth and Amy Tompkins of Hingham. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, two nephews and a niece.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday from 10:30-12 30 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by his funeral services at 12:30 PM in the  funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
