Jorgjia (Xhavo) Pojani

Jorgjia (Xhavo) Pojani, of Quincy, formerly of Korce and Tirana, Albania, died peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Milton Hospital. She was 85.

Born in Korce, Albania on March 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Dhimiter and Pavlina (Pocari) Xhavo. Jorgjia came to the United States in 2006 to live with her daughter. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting. Before retiring in 1990, Jorgjia worked as a manager for a paint manufacturing company in Albania. Jorgjia loved her family and friends and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for the people she loved.

Jorgjia was the beloved wife of the late Guri Pojani, who died in 2000. The two shared many years of loving marriage. She was the devoted mother of Juli Anastasi and her husband Spiro of Quincy and the loving grandmother of Anjel Anastasi of Quincy. Jorgjia was preceded in death by her siblings Xhuvi Xhavo, Marianthi Evro, Koco Xhavo, Lirika Nastasi. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:30 AM in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Relatives and friends may gather at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy on Thursday morning at 9 AM to join the funeral procession to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jorgjia may be made to a charity of your choice.
