Jorge Zelaya

Jorge Zelaya of Weymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 23, 2022.

Jorge was born in Guatemala and came to the United States in 1983. He worked as a Maintenance Director for Beacon Residential Communities for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling with his family on many trips to Disney. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He was the son of the late Armando and Marta Zelaya. Devoted husband of  Kristen (Draper) Zelaya  of Weymouth, and beloved father of Nathan, Katherine and, Samuel Zelaya all of Weymouth. Loving brother of Dora and her husband Zbigniew Starzyk of Quincy, and Lety and her husband Migdonio Figueroa of Providence R.I.  Jorge also leaves behind many other siblings, relatives, and friends in Guatemala.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Entombment at Blue Hill Cemetery will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jorge may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
