John V. Robinson

John V. Robinson of Weymouth entered into the presence of Jesus, October 14, 2022. He passed away in his home in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born to Anna and Peter Robinson of Weymouth. He was educated in Weymouth Public Schools.  At the age of sixteen he met his lifetime sweetheart Janice Hill at the Lakeview Roller Skating Rink and they later were married and had six children. John did construction and masonry, then became a Weymouth Firefighter.

Family time was a priority for John.  He is remembered for taking the family on frequent rides in the Country. He loved weekly Sunday dinners at his home where the house was filled with family and friends. Our family always looked forward to adventurous walks through Esker Park, annual Christmas parties and Fourth of July celebrations. John also coached Weymouth Little League for many years and was a father figure to all the kids in town.

For decades John went on a daily five-to-six-mile walk around Weymouth.  Everyone of all ages would come along on because he possessed the knack for making every experience in life fun.

John also enjoyed taking his family to Bristol, New Hampshire every year to climb mountains, jump off cliffs into the water, and have fires on the beach at night. He also loved his annual family trips to the Fryeburg Fair.  

John’s lifelong joy was his beautiful wife of 65 years, the late Janice M. Robinson, that he affectionately called “Rocky” because she was his rock in their life together. He took pride in his six children, 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Grandfather of the late Lauren G. Masse. 

John was a rugged man with a strong presence. He had a love for God, wife, family and his Country.

Loving father of John V. Robinson Jr. of  Manhattan, NY  Kathleen M. Masse and her late husband, William, of Hanover, Janice M. Robinson of Weymouth, Jean A. Kelley and her husband Leo, of Hingham, Michael K Robinson and his wife, Stephanie, of Bridgewater and Julie A. Fisasconaro and her husband, Richard of Weymouth. Former father in law of Virginia Helm of Las Vegas, NV. Dear brother of Rita Dabrolet of Weymouth, Kathleen Robinson of Weymouth and predeceased by 10 siblings. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in Living Word Church, 170 Weymouth St. Rockland.
