John T. Kelliher

 John T. “Jack” Kelliher of Weymouth, born and raised in Quincy, passed away surrounded by his family at home, October 10, 2015.  Born November 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Mary (Sullivan) Kelliher.

Beloved husband of Faye (Robicheau) Kelliher of Weymouth.  Loving father of Sheryl Newcomb and her husband Keith of New Ipswich, NH, John T. Kelliher, Jr. and his wife Robyn of Wareham, Linda Magee and her husband David of Norwell, Gail McCarthy and her husband John of Weymouth and the late John T. Maynard.  Brother of Paul A. Kelliher of Weymouth and the late Daniel J. Kelliher. Cherished “Papa” of Jennifer, Holly, Emily, Brian, Eric, Olivia, Angelina, Alannah, Alexis, Grace, Jack, Lilah, John Francis, Khloe, Zachary and Kristina Magnin.  Great-grandpapa of Stella, Grayson and Madelyn. Loving father-in-law of Susan Maynard of Dover, Delaware and brother-in-law of Georgana Kelliher of Rockland.  Jack is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

 Jack proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Rowan (DD-782).  He worked for 32 years at Factory Mutual Engineering Company in Norwood as a fire protection engineer.  He also worked many years at President Chevrolet in Quincy as well as the Quincy Shipyard.

Jack loved to garden, woodwork, paint, play the piano and the violin and travel with his family. He was also an avid mechanic and handyman who could fix anything.  Jack was a Scout Master for the Boys Scouts of America for many years in Rockland.  He was a former member of the VFW Post #2346 of Saugus as well as the Knights of Columbus Rockland #165.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Following mass a burial is scheduled in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 PM. 

 In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Jack’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
