John Shea

Shea, John  of Quincy, formerly of Glenbeigh, Co Kerry, Ireland, died July 16, 2013. at age 84.

Beloved husband of  Kathleen (Bradley) Shea of Quincy. Beloved father of Margaret Shea and her husband Robert Nielsen of Chelmsford, Mary Galligan and her husband Michael of Northborough and Ellen Shea and her husband Kevin Cullen of Milton. Brother of the late Ellen, Margaret, Matthew and Jeremiah Shea.  Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Colin Galligan, Kathleen Nielsen and John Cullen.  John is also survived by 3 nieces and 1nephew.

 John was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1949.  He worked in the Construction business for over 20 years and was a proud member of the Laborer’s International Union, Local 223 for many years. John and his wife Kathleen took many trips to Maine, Ireland and Bermuda.  He enjoyed gardening and Irish dancing.  Most of all John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quincy.
