John Richard Lombardo

John Richard Lombardo, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 90.

John was born in Hingham on June 27, 1933, and was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Falletti) Lombardo. He attended local schools and graduated from Hingham High School with the Class of 1951.

John enlisted in the United States Army on December 7, 1953, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on September 6, 1955.

John was a man of many interests and wasn’t afraid to explore new adventures. He was a very successful businessman and was principal owner of High Vacuum in Hingham. He was as comfortable with the manufacturing processes as he was leading board room conferences. A very well-rounded executive.

He loved the sea and enjoyed sailing.  He often sailed with his daughter Debbie.  He was a history buff and was greatly interested in WWII.  He thoroughly enjoyed reading and read 100’s of books from adventure to biographies. He loved to tend his flower gardens and landscaping with his wife. His work was something to see.

John was the beloved husband of Josephine C. “Tootsie” (DeVito) Lombardo of Hingham, with whom he shared many loving years. He was the devoted father of Debra A. “Debbie” Fedele and her husband Anthony of Hanson. John was the loving grandfather of John Fedele and his wife Kaitlyn of Taunton and Alexandria Kamberidis and her husband Dimitri of Dedham. He was the loving great grandfather of Therese Fedele of Taunton and soon to be baby Kamberidis. John was the dear brother of Geraldine Lombardo and her late husband Peter Marinelli of Hingham and was preceded in death by his other nine siblings. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
