Marancik, John R. of Quincy, formerly of St. Louis, MO and New Jersey, died October 4, 2012. Beloved son of Rita Marancik of New Jersey and the late John B. Marancik. Loving father of Katrin “Katey” Marancik of Fairhaven, Blake Marancik and Abby Treesh both of Indiana and Alison Marancik of Kansas. Brother of Gerald “Jerry” Marancik of Maine. Former husband of the late Diane V Marancik. Devoted longtime friend of Shawn Glavas of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Charles and Liam Walsh and Conner and Marshall Treesh. John was born and raised in New Jersey. He loved the ocean and spending time at the beach, especially the Jersey Shore. John worked for Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge as Director of Quality Assurance for 13 years before retiring in 2011. He had a passion for Broadway shows and Musicals never passing up the chance to go to a show. He loved being surrounded by people, particularly family. He was especially gifted at telling stories and jokes, making people laugh, and loved to end a gathering with a sing-a-long and a Conga line. He was a perfectionist and good at almost everything he tried: a good student, Captain in the Air Force, painter, swing/ball room dancer, son, brother, father, and friend. He is loved and will be missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will be at a later date in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Donations in memory of John may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
