Politano Jr., John R. of Weymouth, formerly of Pembroke and Norwell, passed away March 9, 2025. Born on June 14, 1955, in Revere, John was a man of great character, known for his generous spirit and infectious laughter. He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Dunphy) Politano, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage filled with love and adventure.
John was a devoted father to his daughter Melissa Conley and her husband Lawrence of Weymouth. He carried the memory of his late daughter Marybeth Kane in his heart every day. As a cherished Grandpa, he adored his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His role as a brother was equally important, and he is survived by Deborah Politano of Stoughton, Peter Politano of Rockland, Jean Politano of Rockland, James Politano of Foxboro, Susan Politano and son R.J. of Stoughton. He was predeceased by his parents John R. Politano, Sr. and Geraldine(Voto) Politano, his brothers Ralph, Dana, and Joseph Politano. His beloved Yorkie Pup, Max, and many nieces and nephews also survive him.
John's early years were spent in Revere before he graduated from Canton High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He dedicated many years of service as an auxiliary policeman in Pembroke, a role that allowed him to give back to his community and ensure the safety of his neighbors.
Professionally, John was the proud owner of Chevy Auto Body in Dorchester. He later became an autobody consultant for various companies, sharing his knowledge and passion for the industry with others. His professional life was marked by integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Beyond his work, John had a passion for thoroughbred racehorses and was the proud owner of A.B. Chevy Stable. John also had a standing appointment every Friday night, where he played poker with his buddies for 20 years.
John found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time in Naples, Florida, at his condo affectionately known as "Grandpa's Hidey Ho" There, he relished the warmth of the sun and the company of his loved ones. He was also an exceptional cook, known for making the best "Sunday Gravy." His Italian and BBQ dishes were the highlights of family gatherings, and his recipes will be cherished and passed down for generations.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Thursday March, 13, 2025, prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. In loving memory of John, please consider a donation in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
