John Patrick Hart

John Patrick Hart, of Concord and Newfound Lake, NH and a longtime resident of Hingham, MA, passed into eternal life suddenly on January 18, 2024.  He was the loving father of Claire Hart and the son of the late Richard N., Jr. and Monica Hart. He was the cherished brother of Richard N. Hart, III and his wife Heather of Andover, Patricia Kelly and her husband John of Medfield, Michael Hart and his wife Maryanne of Norfolk, Daniel Hart and his wife Ria of Boston, and Matthew Hart and his wife Meghan of Andover, and the dear companion of Tammy Shore. He was the irreplaceable Uncle Johnny to his sixteen nieces and nephews. 

John was raised in Hingham and was a proud graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1993. John received both his Bachelor of Science in Business in 1997 and Master of Business Administration in 2007 from Babson College and enjoyed a successful career working for a number of national retail corporations including Trader Joe’s and Simpson Strong-Tie. John was a unique polymath whose interests and expertise varied widely from architecture to history to politics. An expert collector of New England antiques and memorabilia, John was as conversant discussing 1970s folk rock as he was the history of wooden power boats. An intrepid traveler who loved road trips and taking cruises, John particularly loved Newfound Lake, where he spent part of every year of his too brief life. 

John’s outsized presence and unforgettable laugh belied his sensitivity and kindness. He was an iconoclast and authentic individual who overcame any obstacle with a smile on his face. John was a devoted father, magnanimous brother, benevolent uncle, and loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, January 25 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 40 Sea Street, North Weymouth.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday, January 26 prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM.

Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham.
