John P. Raftery

Raftery, John P. of South Yarmouth, formerly of Brookline & Hingham, August 12, 2005. The beloved husband of the late June D. (Salmaine) Raftery. Father of Donald Raftery and his wife Heather of Greenwich, Ct. Brother of Frances Flannery of Brookline. Grandfather of J.P., Haley and Caitlin Raftery. John was a “double eagle” attending both Boston College High School as well as Boston College. Prior to college he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Raftery ran Sales & Marketing for 3M Graphic Microfilm and later Spaulding Co. He was an avid golfer at So. Shore County Club in Hingham and Bass River Country Club in So. Yarmouth He was actively involved in South Shore Country Club Junior golf program, Hingham Youth Hockey and the Boston College Alumni Club of Cape Cod. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Thursday at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be prior to the Mass on Thursday morning from 9 to 11am. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mr. Raftery may be made to Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, c/o William F.
