John P. “Jack” Brennan

Brennan, John P. “Jack” of Weymouth, died unexpectedly on December 24, 2021.

Jack was a longtime resident of Weymouth and attended Weymouth High School, Class of 1975. Despite suffering a brain aneurysm at the age of 17, he worked for many years as a filing Clerk for The U.S. Coast Guard, MBTA and through to retirement at Mass Health. Jack was very close with his mom and his family. He was adventurous and enjoyed several trips to Ireland and an Alaskan cruise. His love of music led him to many bluegrass festivals and he and his beloved dog, Bonnie would sing together often. His happy go lucky spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his beloved dog Bonnie. Devoted son of the late Marguerite and Eugene Brennan. Loving brother of Gene Brennan and Debbie of Weymouth, Mary Lou Nesson and Bob of Whitman, Marguerite Gutekunst and partner Paul of Weymouth, Terry Brennan and Ann of Weymouth, Christopher Brennan and Caroline of West Bridgewater, Frederick Brennan and Ellen Monahan of Weymouth, Irene Brennan-Krewduk and Mike of Plymouth, Elizabeth Brennan of Dedham and the late Patrick Brennan and brother-in-law of Jean Brennan of Plympton. Dear nephew of James Crowley and his wife Joyce of Marshfield. Cherished Godson of Elaine Crowley of Scituate. Also known as Uncle Jack to many nieces and nephews.

Because of the size of Jack’s family and Covid restrictions, services will be private. Friends and extended family are invited to meet the family at the Old North Cemetery, Weymouth, for the internment at approximately 1 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2021. In loving memory of Jack, flowers are welcome or please consider a donation in his name to Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, 1010 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02119 or to Special Olympics, Attn: Web Gifts, 1133 19th Street NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
