Duggan John P. orginally of Quincy died on Monday, June 21, 2010 after a 3 year heroic battle with multiple myeloma , he was 57. John was born and raised in North Quincy but spent most of his adult life in Newport, NH. John was a deeply spiritual man who recognized Gods love through photography. His writings and nature photography are living testimony to his faith.He was masterful in all his endeavors. He was an excellent skier, built his own canoe, created delicate woodcarvings and wrote prose worthy of publishing. John was most thankful to the loving family and friends and medical professionals who blessed him daily in deeds, thoughts and prayers. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. The beloved son of Mary (Brady) Duggan of Quincy and the late John P. Duggan. Cherished brother of Paul Duggan and his wife Nancy of Scituate, Kathie Duggan Calitri of Lincoln and Ann Hawkes and her husband Michael of Weymouth. Loving Uncle of Jameson Calitri, Ashley Hawkes and Patrick & Emily Duggan. John is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends from both the south shore area and New Hampshire. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday , June 24 from 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral home, 785 Hancock St. QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30am , Friday, June 25, 2010 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 12:30pm. Burial will be private at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Multiple Myeloma Cancer Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or at Johns’ request please donate blood platelets at Massachusetts General Hospital or your local American Red Cross Center.
