John P. Demetropoulos

Demetropoulos, John P. of Weymouth, died July 27, 2017, surrounded by family in his own home.

John’s life centered on his family both here and Greece.  He was the proud owner of Ma MaGoo’s Restaurant at Fresh Pond, Cambridge.  He took great joy in the ability to grow his business and share his success with the next generation.  When not working he enjoyed fishing on the Cape and traveling to Greece to visit family and friends.  He will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor and his ability to work hard and play hard.

Beloved husband of Elaine (Konstadies) Demetropoulos of Weymouth.  Loving father of Peter Demetropoulos of Weymouth, James Demetropoulos and his wife Jennifer of Belmont, and Maria Choukas and her husband Gregory of Dorchester.  Cherished “Papou”to Joseph, Jacqueline, Charlotte, and Yanni.  Brother of Georgia Peristeris of Greece.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A gathering will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Service in St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 119 Common St., Braintree at 10 AM.  Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
