John M. Lynch, Jr.

Lynch, John M., Jr., 92,  (Ret. BPD Superintendent) of Hingham, originally of Dorchester,  passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep, September 2, 2014.

Beloved husband of 70 years of Helen R. (Curley) Lynch of Hingham.  Loving father of John M. Lynch III of Brookline, Margaret A. Stonehouse and her husband Gerald of Hingham, Helen F. Loomis and her husband Kenneth of Hingham, Paul F. Lynch and his wife Kathleen of Hingham, James M. Lynch and his wife Linda of Hingham, Stephen D. Lynch of Brookline, and Kathleen M. Cochrane and her husband John of Hingham.  Dear brother of Mary Kaveney and her husband Ted of Falmouth.  John is also lovingly survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 

John proudly served his country during WWII as a US Naval Aviator aboard the USS Essex.  He was a decorated veteran and the proud recipient of two Distinguished Flying Crosses.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
