John M. Hernon

John M. Hernon, of Rockland, died March 21, 2016.

John grew up in Dorchester and Braintree before moving to Rockland over 25 years ago. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard. John had a successful career as a truck driver working for BFI and currently T&K Asphalt. He was a member of both the Rockland Eagle’s and Hanover American Legion. He was fiercely devoted to his family and enjoyed cooking, sports and annual trips to the Daytona 500. John had an affection for animals, especially dogs. He will be remembered as a kind and social person who was loved by all who had the benefit of knowing him.   

Beloved husband of Kathleen (Conole) Hernon of Rockland. Devoted father of Michael Hernon and his wife Megan of Abington, Breanne Hernon of Rockland and Elizabeth Hernon of Rockland. Cherished Papa of Xavier, Jack and Owen. Son of the late Peter and Margaret (Walsh) Hernon. Loving brother of Tricia Donahue and her husband Joseph of Braintree. Son-in-law of Joan Conole of FL. Brother-in-law of Carol (Conole) Whalen and her husband Michael of FL. Dear nephew of Sally Hennessey of Braintree and Kay Walsh of Weymouth. Loving uncle of Kristen and Peter Donahue and Daniel and Caitlin Erickson. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10 AM.

Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
