John "Jack" F. Ryan, born on September 30, 1951, in Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2025, surrounded by love after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Jack was a beloved figure known for his fun-loving nature, gentlemanly demeanor, and unwavering support for his family.
After graduating from South Boston High School, Jack began his career at a local grocery store, where he started as a grocery bagger. His dedication and work ethic led him to rise through the ranks, eventually becoming a deli manager at Stop and Shop, where he remained until his retirement. Jack's commitment to excellence was not limited to his own store; he also traveled to other locations to organize deli teams and teach them best practices, showcasing his leadership and expertise.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jack took great pride in his family. He was always present to celebrate their milestones and achievements, epitomizing what it means to be a devoted family man. Jack had a multitude of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed traveling, embarking on cruises, and was an avid fan of country music. He also found joy in playing slot machines, adding to the thrill of life as he embraced each adventure.
Jack was well-known for hosting his famous "Jack Christmas parties" every Saturday after Thanksgiving, a cherished tradition that became the highlight of the holiday season for many. Friends and family alike looked forward to this festive gathering, ensuring that their calendars were clear for Jack's annual celebration.
Beloved Husband of Dorothy LeClair, Devoted Father to Christina LeClair and her Husband Robert Griffin of Quincy. Cherished Grandfather to Jenna Morris of Hudson New Hampshire. Brother to Robert Ryan and his wife Renee of Quincy, the late Trudy and George Johnson and the late Sheila and Edward Ariel. Uncle to Theresa Pilch, Tracy Ariel, Edward Ariel and Derek Johnson. Jack is also survived by his children Maureen Delgaudio, Robert Ryan, Keith Ryan, stepdaughter Sherri Quinones, grandchildren Celeste, Nicholas,Patrick, Matthew, Robert and Kellie and 3 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4/15/2025 from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of life will be held at the Funeral Home at 9:30AM prior to a Funeral Mass Wednesday 4/16/2025 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
Jack will be remembered by his warmth and kindness he brought to all who knew him. He truly exemplified the qualities of a gentleman, always taking the time to walk people to their cars, ensuring they felt valued and cared for.
