John “Jack” Hayes

Hayes, John F. “Jack” of Quincy died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 28, 2010. Beloved husband to Nancy Hayes (Allen) of Quincy. Loving father to Joyce Kirslis and her husband James of Rockland, Joanne Laubach and her husband Jeff of Rockland and John E. Hayes of Quincy. Brother of Helen Gioiosa of Medford, Joseph Hayes of Malden and the late Catherine Andella and Robert Hayes. Stepfather to Michael Allen of Quincy. He was a devoted grandfather to Erika, Jaimi, Matthew, Nicole, Corey, Kelli, Aaron, John, Danny, Mariah and Matthew. Former husband of Connie Hayes. Jack was born in Boston and grew up in Cambridge. He was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School and was a member of the National Guard Reserves. Jack worked for Jordan Marsh Co/ Macy’s for 44 years as the director of retail before retiring in 2004. Jack is remembered by his family as a man with a great sense of humor, an avid sports fan, and an animal lover. Jack loved spending time with his grandchildren, scratch tickets and sitting on his front porch. Jack will be missed by his family and all who had the pleasure to know him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Saturday, September 04, 2010 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10AM prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:30 AM. Cremation to follow. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of John may be made to Norwell VNA / Hospice 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061 .
