John “Jack” F. Keenan

John “Jack” F. Keenan of Weymouth, Massachusetts died on February 28, 2023 at the age of 69 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jack was born in February 1954 in Quincy, Massachusetts. He graduated from Weymouth North High School in 1972. He was the son of Mary (Marie) T. Rosebach of Hingham, Massachusetts and the late Robert T. Keenan. He was also the stepson of the late Elaine C. Keenan and the late Thomas “Bud” J. Rosebach.

Jack voluntarily enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1974. He served as a fire protection specialist and was stationed in both Thailand and the Philippines during the tail end of the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Jack joined the Weymouth Fire Department in 1980. He was dedicated to his career and loved being a firefighter. Jack was ultimately promoted to Lieutenant and eventually retired in 2004. He also proudly served on Weymouth’s Charter Commission, which changed the form of town government in 1999.

He was a devoted husband for 34 years to the love of his life, Paula Keenan (Bielefeldt). He was the loving father of his five children: Paul Keenan and his wife Haley of North Attleboro, Jenny Keenan and her fiancé Jack of Weymouth, John Keenan of Weymouth, Jason Keenan of Weymouth, and Erin Gunderway (Keenan) and her husband Jerard of Weymouth. He was the loving brother of Robert Keenan and his wife Barbara, Thomas Keenan and his wife Diane, the late Mark Keenan and his wife Donna, and Jeff Keenan. He was the loving brother-in-law of Judith Mitchell. He was the adoring grandfather of Kalaigh Keenan and her husband Brian, Alyssa Keenan, Peyton Keenan, Chase Keenan, Kelsie McAuliffe and her husband Nathan, and Faith McAuliffe. He was the proud great-grandfather of Wyatt Pinardi. He was also a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Jack cherished his time with his family and friends. He and Paula especially loved camping in their trailer with family and friends in Maine, New Hampshire, and Plymouth. Jack also enjoyed the simple things in life like NASCAR, loud music, Pepsi, and cheap cigars.
