John “Jack” Coash, of South Daytona, Florida, formerly of Port Orange, Florida and Hull, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022. He was 84.
Born in Boston on March 6, 1938, he was the son of the late William Henry and Thelma Gertrude (Brown) Coash. Jack was raised in Weymouth and Hull, attended local schools, and graduated from Hingham High School with the Class of 1955. After high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country. Following his honorable discharge, Jack worked as a freight conductor for the railroads in and around Boston. Jack was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Jack was the beloved husband of the late Judith Ann (Contois) Coash, who died in 2004 and the cherished fiancé of Jacqueline Zabielski of South Daytona, Florida. Jack was the devoted father of Deborah Downey and her husband Paul of Virginia, John Coash Jr. And his wife Kelly of South Carolina, Brenda Gamble and her husband Dana of Hull, Patricia Hamlin and her husband Wally of Maine, Karen Henkel and her husband Todd of Michigan, and the late Suzanne Pelletier. Jack was the loving grandfather of nineteen and the great grandfather of ten. He was also the dear brother of Cheryl Nastri and her husband Ron of Taunton as well as the late Robert and William Coash. Finally, Jack is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Burial will be private in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
