John J. Smith

John J. Smith of Weymouth, died October 2, 2016 at the age of 58, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John enjoyed riding his motorcycle, reading and baseball, especially the Red Sox. He had a passion for history, including his own ancestry and was proud to be a descendant of the Mayflower. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, sense of humor and devotion to his family.  

Beloved husband of 28 years to Joanne M. (Kressler) Smith of  Weymouth. Devoted father of Jonathan D., Joseph G., and Victoria J. Smith, all of Weymouth. Cherished son of the late George and Jean (Finch) Smith. Loving brother of Alice Bos and her fiance Richard Linares of Hingham, Jean Menice and her husband Paul of ME and the late Daniel Smith. Favorite uncle to Molly, Joseph, Nicholas, Dawn, William, Alyssa, Kassandra and Cameron. Also survived by his best friend and daily companion, his dog Addie. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11 AM.

Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
