McDonough, John J. “Red” of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, April 2, 2003. Beloved husband of 55 years of Rita C. (Julian) McDonough. Loving father of Robert J. McDonough of Beacon Hill, Catherine M. Haker of Melrose, Rita T. Brace of Manomet, Janet M. Burgart of Hull, Maureen F. McDonough of North Quincy, and Kevin M. McReynolds of Whitman. Brother of Mary Pesiri of Milton, Theresa Powers of Quincy, Margaret Janski of Lawrence and the late Patrick McDonough, Helen Towle, Michael McDonough, Winifred Gray, Rita Hannigan, Francis and Joseph McDonough. Also survived by 17 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Mr. McDonough was a self-employed painting contractor and a member of St. Mark’s VFW Post. Mr. McDonough played the Irish accordian. He was a talented carpenter who would untertake any project. Donations in memory of Red may be made to Fr. Bill’s Place 38 Broad St. Quincy, MA 02169 or to Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, 386 Hancock St., North Quincy, MA 02171.
