John  J. McGue, of Quincy, died April 9, 2013.

John was a World War II veteran and a lifelong resident of Quincy. On Tuesday, John passed away peacefully in the same house in which he was born over 88 years ago.  A banker for many years at Hancock Bank in North Quincy, John was well known in the community.  He was passionate about baseball and loved watching the Red Sox and the Cape Cod League teams.  He was a member of the BoSox Club and the Knights of Columbus.  Known for his sense of humor, John had a kind and gentle heart. He enjoyed lively sing-a-long, and a good laugh.  He was most proud of the many lifelong friendships that he cultivated through the years.

Beloved son of the late Joseph McGue and Ellen (Whooley) McGue.  Loving brother of the late Russell, James, Willis and Margaret McGue. Brother-in-law to Marie McGue of Quincy and the late Catherine McGue.  Beloved uncle of Margaret Mahan of W. Roxbury, he is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his devoted caretakers.
