John J. Mcgarry

McGarry, John J. of Weymouth, passed away March 3, 2013 at the age of 87.

As a member of the U.S. Navy, John served aboard the USS Arkansas during WWII. Beginning in 1955, he worked for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, retiring in 1988 as an assistant superintendent. He was a member of the Castle Island Association.

Husband of the late Catherine (Strachan) McGarry. Loving father of John McGarry of Weymouth, Denise and husband Bernie Campbell of Hanover, and Jeffrey McGarry and wife Selina Makofsky of Laconia, NH.. Devoted grandfather to Justin Campbell and Michael and wife Lynn Campbell of Hanover and his great granddaughters: Leah and Allie. Beloved brother of Bernard McGarry of Weymouth and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, March 12th from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday March 13th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 PM.
