John J. Maher

Maher, John J. of Weymouth, passed away March 21, 2016.

John grew up in South Boston, but was a longtime resident of Weymouth. Working many years for the MBTA, John was a member of the Local 529.

John was passionate about his grandchildren and loved to cheer them on at their sporting events. Beloved son of the late John and Honora (Griffin) Maher. Former husband of Carol (Ring) Maher. Loving father to Michael V. Maher of Marshfield, Maureen Maher of Hingham and the late John “Jackie” Maher. Brother to Robert Maher and the late Betty Coyne. Cherished Papa to Michael, Connor and Meghan Maher.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, Weymouth. Burial to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
