John J. Mackey

Mackey, John J. of Hull,  formerly of Hingham, died June 19, 2013. 

John grew up in Dorchester, Mass. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A graduate of Suffolk University and Suffolk Law School. John worked as a Massachusetts State Trooper before taking a position as a sales representative with West Publishing. A longtime member of the Weymouth Tennis Club, John enjoyed staying active. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was always there for his family. He will be sadly missed.

The beloved husband of  52 years to Anne M. (McGowan) Mackey. Father of Daniel F. Mackey of Dumfries,VA and Marie B. Mackey of South Boston.  Grandfather of John E. and Tara Rose Mackey both of VA. Brother of William Mackey of FL and Christine Fulton of Quincy and the late Ann McNamara and Alice Hallisey. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the  Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham Monday, July 1 at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
