John J. “Jack” Kearney

Kearney, John J. “Jack” of Quincy, died June 3, 2013. 

Jack’s life revolved around his loving family.  He enjoyed having them at the house for pool parties and special occasions.  As a youth he earned the distinction of becoming an Eagle Scout, something he was proud of his entire life.  He later served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  His favorite pastime was taking care of his home.  A telephone line installer with New England Telephone, he had worked for 39 years, retiring in 1983.  He had tremendous pride in his work and always looked forward to each new workday.  Always enjoying a good meal, he especially loved ice cream and his trips to the Clam Box and OB’s Restaurants in Quincy.  Jack will be remembered for his friendly nature, his strong will, strong mind, and equally strong faith. 

Beloved husband of the late Mary (Price) and Joan M. (Frizzell).  Loving father of John P. Kearney and his wife Kathy A. Sheehan of Dedham, Gary T. Kearney and his wife Joanne of NH, and the late Paul M. Kearney.  Brother of the late Robert Kearney.  Cherished grandfather of Christine M. Kearney and Garrett J. Kearney.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02171.
