Greene, Jr. of FL, Patricia M. Culbert of Kingston, Helen “Lynne” Furze and her husband Bill of Pembroke, and Mary Ann Greene of FL. Loving brother of the late Paul J. and Leo Donohue. Cherished grandfather of Jay Culbert, Christina G. Watts, Bryan W. and Patrick J. Furze, Jody L. McCaskill, Jeffrey, Adam and Bruce Arnstein. Dear great grandfather of Sophia M. and Logan W. He entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 and served through 1944. John was a firefighter in Hull for over 35 years. He was a Captain for many years and spent the last 5 years of his career as Deputy Fire Chief. In 1946, he joined the political trail and became the Secretary of the Committee to elect for the Congressional, Senatorial, and Presidential campaigns for John F. Kennedy. John was invited to and attended John F. Kennedy’s inauguration and was also invited to and attended the opening ceremonies for the JFK Library in Boston. He was a past Commander of the Oscar Smith Mitchell American Legion Post # 140 in Hull, a member of the Holy Name Society in Hull, the School Committee and was the Vice Chairman of the Planning & Building Committee for Hull High School. He was also a member of the BoSox, Liars Club, and the Hull Firefighters Association. John loved golfing, boating, and vacationing in Florida. He especially enjoyed going to spring training games while in Florida, he was an avid Red Sox fan. John was also known for his sincerity, integrity, honesty and loyalty. Above all else he loved being with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love endures.
