Gilfeather, John of Quincy February 15, 2008. Beloved husband of Barbara (DiBona) Gilfeather of Quincy. Loving father of Barry D. Gilfeather and companion Barbara Violandi of Rockland, Brian M. Gilfeather and wife Rosemary of Mississippi, Marie and her husband Joseph Shadduck of Braintree and the late Michael Gilfeather. Cherished grandfather of Jack, Craig and Caroline Shadduck, Mary Murphy, and Anna, Spencer, Daniel, Angelina and Christa Gilfeather. Also survived by 2 loving great grandchildren. John was a lifelong resident of Quincy. He graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Quincy Junior College. He was a union bricklayer from 1948 – 1963 before becoming a Quincy Police Officer from which he retired in 1993. After retirement he worked for the Quincy school department as a driver and mentor for 10 years. In addition to his dedication to the city of Quincy he was even more devoted to his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and associates. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 2- 6 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Quincy YMCA Partnership Program 79 Coddington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
