Father of John M. of Quincy, James R. of Pembroke, Michelle Madden of Quincy, Janine E. of Rockland and the late William Farren. Brother of Alice Smith of Quincy, Jeremiah of Scituate, Thomas of Dedham, Elizabeth “Betty” McBride of Brighton, Margaret “Peggy” Dwyer of Arlington, Bernard Walsh of CA and the late Michael of Avon. Loving Papa Motorcycle of John J and Kevin P. of Braintree and Thomas M. and Colleen E. Madden of Quincy. Former husband of Geraldine “Gerri” Farren of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston. He was the former owner of F & R Auto Body in Dorchester. John was an avid Harley Davidson rider who enjoyed Laconia and day trips. John was fiercely proud of his Irish heritage, enjoying Irish music, breakfasts and a good argument. He had received his 25 year medallion from A.A. where he was a friend and mentor to many.Donations in memory of Mr. Farren may be made to Fr.
