John J. Doyle

Doyle, John J. of Quincy, passed away peacefully September 18, 2011. Beloved husband of 38 years to Janet M. (Melaugh) Doyle. Loving father of Matthew J. Doyle and his wife, Taryn, of Denver, Colorado, Michael J. Doyle of Wollaston, Brian G. Doyle of Milton, and Katherine M. Doyle of Wollaston. Brother of Mark Doyle and his wife, Mary, of Orleans, Gerard Doyle of Quincy, and Kathryn Phillips and her husband, Stephen, of Norwood. Grandfather of Ginger Doyle. Also survived by three nephews and one niece. John was born in Boston, a son of the late John and Mary ( Dowd) Doyle, he was raised in West Roxbury, and lived many years in Milton before moving to Quincy 40 years ago. Until his retirement, he had worked for twenty years as a carpenter at Boston College. John was also a Real Estate Agent for Century 21 Abagail Adams and a bartender at a club in Weymouth. He enjoyed camping especially during the summer months in Cooperstown, New York, spending time with his loving family, reading, and loved watching sports on t.v. John was also a former youth baseball, and soccer coach as well as a basketball coach and a cub scout leader for Saint Ann’s Church. He was a loyal friend to many and was very kind, and also a humorous, and generous man. He was a 1966 graduate of Milton High School, a graduate of Fisher Jr. College in Boston, and attended North Bennett Street Industrial School. John was also a vietnam veteran serving with the United States Army In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Inclusion Body Myositis, 1233 20th St, NW, Suite 402, Washington, DC 20036. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
