John J. Barry

Barry, John J. “Uncle Buck” of Quincy, died April 2, 2016 at the age of 57.  

Uncle Buck was a proud US Army veteran. He had a heart of gold and always put others before himself. He would make sandwiches and give them to the homeless when he was driving in his cab. He worked for Shore Taxi, Local 88, Moody Plumbing, Spataro Plumbing and Jack Chenette Plumbing. He loved cooking, especially “Barry Wings” for friends and family. He was the ultimate entertainer, always making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Loving son of William P. Barry Jr. and the late Dorothy (Bowles) Barry. Beloved husband of Linda Grimmett of Quincy. Cherished father of Kenny Barry and his fiancé Michelle Igoe and John John Barry of Quincy, and the late James Grimmett. Devoted “Papa” of Mikenzie Barry and Patrick James Grimmett. Also, children that were like his own Michael, Lucas, and Kristen Chenette and Justin Curran. Loving brother of his twin sister Janet Barry of Quincy, Patricia Barry Smalley of Dorchester, Patrick Barry of Quincy, Billy Barry of Abington, Susan Barry of Quincy, Carolyn Barry McGrath of E. Weymouth, and the late James Barry. Favorite uncle to Jaime, Johnny, Jillian, Michael, Robbie and Laney. Great uncle of Christian, Nate, Isaiah, Elliah, Moriah, JJ, Jake, Robbie Jr., Violet and Liam. Dear friend of Shirley McKay. Best friend of the late Jack Chenette and Michael Kneeland Sr. Also survived by many dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral home service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
