John H. Smith Jr.

Smith, John H., Jr., of Weymouth, passed away March 5, 2013 at the age of 74.

John was born and raised in Weymouth. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis, the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam War. He worked as an auto body repairman for many years. He enjoyed building model cars and had a passion for old cars and car shows. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed the peace and serenity he found visiting Truro and Provincetown. He was also a proud friend of Bill W. He will be sadly missed.

 Devoted father of Brenda Chaplain and her husband Craig of East Bridgewater and Stephanie Buckley of East Taunton. Cherished grandfather of Kelsey and Colin Chaplain, Alicia Tamulevich and Katherine Gwen Buckley. Former husband of Rosemary (Donovan) Rogan of West Bridgewater. Loving brother of Estelle Kearney of FL, Richard Smith of FL, Edward Smith of Hull and the late Robert Smith. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.   

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
