Kennan, John G., Sr. of Quincy, September 7, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Ladas). Loving father of John G. Kennan, Jr. and his wife Mary and Diane M. Blake and her husband David, all of Sandwich. Brother of James of FL and the late Sadie and Herbert Kennan. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Kennan of Sandwich, Meredith Blake of Hyannis and David Blake of Mashpee. Also survived by 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Burial to be private for family only. John was an avid reader and a self proclaimed historian. He enjoyed reading about WWII, United States and European history. Mr. Kennan spent many hours in the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy. He loved to fish, both at Castle Island in South Boston as well as Wollaston Beach in Quincy. Mr. Kennan worked in design and construction for the General Services Administration of the U.S. Federal Government in Boston. His family gave him the most enjoyment in life. They describe him as caring, loving, consistent and dedicated. He was also a very loyal friend. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in Boston and attended Northeastern University.
