John G. “Jack The Marine” Baumeister, Jr.

Mr. John G., “Jack the Marine” Jr. Baumeister, of Cohasset, formerly of Weymouth, passed away on  May 27, 2017, surrounded by his family and treasured Charlotte.

Beloved son of the late John and Delores Baumeister.

Loving brother of Julia Baumeister of Quincy, Kenneth Baumeister of Weymouth, Kevin Baumeister of Hull, Linda Baumeister-McLaughlin and her husband, Kevin, of Milton, Susan Abbott of Quincy, Lawrence Baumeister of Weymouth, Jane Couper and her husband, Jeffrey Mohammed, of Weymouth, Brenda Hayes and her hsuband, Mark, of Milton, and Brian Baumeister of Naples, FL. Cherished and adored uncle of Adam, David, Brooke, Jen, Susie, Matthew, John, Kevin, Lauren, Evan “Taker”, Chris “Topher”, and Julia Vera. Great Uncle of Skyyi, Mykah, Jazz, David, Austin, Riley, Charlotte, and Sidney.

John attended Weymouth High School, played softball for many town teams and played Quaterback for the Weymouth Knights and the USMC. He was an avid sports fan and horse racing enthusiast who loved his annual trips to Saratoga with “Jake the Snake”. Jack was a proud Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp as a Gunnery Sergent and a recruiter for 32 years. He was very involved in AA, and was a gifted motivational speaker helping others in need with great paternal pride all over the country. Jack always treasured his wonderful times with his family especially his nieces and nephews who he adored. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew him. The family would like to thank the Old Colony Team for there outstanding care and compassion especially for our veterans.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).

Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Colony Care, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
