John G. Hennessey

Hennessey, John G. age 47 of Weymouth, formerly of Hingham, died October 7, 2016.

John was a graduate of Hingham High School class of 1987, and worked for the Town of Hingham, Public Works Department, for 28 years. John adored his family, especially his nieces and nephews with whom he shared a special bond. He was a man with a huge heart who would do anything for anyone and always thought of others before himself.  He loved live music and going to concerts.  When he was younger, he followed the Grateful Dead on tour and was still a big fan of their music and the Allman Brothers. He loved going to Patriots games, traveling down the Cape for the weekend, surfing, walking along the beach, and animals. John was generous with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John’s family would like to give special thanks to the Hingham Public Works Department for their friendship, love, and support through this time.

Son of the late Paul and June Hennessey. Loving brother of Paul Hennessey Jr. and his wife Janet, Raymond Hennessey and his wife Christine, Mary Shea and her husband Dennis, Joanne Weld, Judy Pierce and her husband Jacob. Cherished “Uncle John” to Kevin, Elizabeth, William, Ryan, Brendan, Michelle, and Elise. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the funeral.  A funeral Mass will be held in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM with burial following in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to the charity of your choice including the Make a Wish Foundation or any local animal shelter.
