Sullivan, John F. (Ret. LT. MDC) of Quincy January 18, 2007. The beloved husband of 60 years to Claire (Fanning) Sullivan.Father of Maureen Riley of Quincy, Patricia and her husband Ronald Adams of Weymouth, Rev. John P. Sullivan and his wife Jill of Norfolk and Rev. Claire Sullivan of Lynn. Brother of Helen Fanning of Quincy and the late Mary Sullivan. Devoted Grandfather of Dennis Abbott, John Abbott and his wife Kristen, Colleen & Caitlin Riley, Ronald Adams and his wife Lynn, Michael & Kevin Adams, Jessica and her husband Jared Bain, USMC, Daniel Partick, Abigail Crosby, Tyler Russell and Gracie Sullivan. Great Grandfather of Ryan, Jake, DeAnna, Emma, Daniel and Caelyn. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish in Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 2- 4 & 7- 9 PM. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Sullivan may be made to House of Hope Church, 65 Munroe Street, Lynn, MA 01901. Friend of Bill W. W.W.II Navy veteran. John was born in South Boston and raised and educated in Quincy. He enlisted in the United States Navy on his birthday during W.W.II. During his time in the military, John served at Murmansk – Russia.His military convoy unit took weapons and ammunition into Russia, only recently were these soldiers honored with a Russian “Red Medal” a very impressive award. Mr. Sullivan was very proud of his military service. After his tour of duty he was active with the VFW Post , the American Legion Post( Houghs Neck) and the Disabled Veterans – DAV Post. John enjoyed his daily mile swim at the YMCA almost until his 80th birthday. He love to ride his bike and enjoy being active. He was a great dancer. He enjoyed spending his summers at Dunroamin Park in Sandwich, MA . Mr. Sullivan was a proud friend of Bill W. for the past 54 years. He was a devoted husband of 60 years and a proud father 4 children , 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
