Moran, John F. of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester & South Boston, passed away on February 11, 2013, he was 90.
The beloved husband of 55 years to the late Joan E. (Storan) Moran. Loving father of Patricia Moran of Quincy, Barbara Moran of Wrentham, John M. Moran of Quincy, Nancy LeVie of Millis, Timothy Moran, QPD of Quincy and the late Kathleen & James Moran. John was the last of 11 brothers and sisters. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Kristin and Kasey.
A proud Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific during World War II. John was an avid golfer, a member of the Castle Island Association, a Boston Braves fan and a member of the McKeon Post. He was proud of his contributions with the South Boston World War II Memorial. John was a dedicated member of the D.A.V. where he helped other veterans. He enjoyed John Wayne and Walter Brennan movies and loved to play cribbage and bingo. John was a long time employee of the City of Boston and the U.S. Postal Service. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband father and grandfather who will be missed by his family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Thursday at 12:45pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Hospital,1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132 or to D.A.V. Cavanagh Post #79, 195 Copeland Street, Unit G, Quincy, MA 02169.
