John Esterquest

Esterquest, Jay of Quincy age 63, died peacefully at his home on March 14, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Originally from Des Plaines, IL, he moved to the Boston area in the early 1970’s. Jay attended Northeastern University, where he became a registered nurse and met his wife of 30 years Marjorie Jordan.  He is the devoted father of Sarah and Jane Esterquest. Jay enjoyed being with his family and fishing in his canoe on Knickerbocker Lake in Maine. Jay enjoyed making people laugh. Jay is survived by his mother Lorraine of Des Plaines, IL and his 4 brothers Dick and his wife Kathy Miller, Jim and his wife Barb, David and his wife Sharon and his brother Tom Esterquest of Arlington Heights, IL, and his sister Mary McNeilly. Jay is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In his passing he joins his late father Richard and his sister Patti.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, March 16 from 12 -2pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. Quincy, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jay may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
