Ridge, John E. of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, February 12, 2006. Beloved husband of Celia (Joyce) Ridge. Loving father of Mary Lunt, Eileen Barbuto, both of Pembroke, John P. Ridge, Celia Barton, Patricia Sullivan, William C. Ridge, all of Quincy and Colleen Coughlin of Dorchester. Brother of William Ridge of Quincy, Rita Stevenson of Hingham, John “Jackie” Nee of South Boston and the late Mary Foley. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 3-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. John worked for over 30 years as a police officer for the City of Boston, retiring in 1991. During World War II, he proudly served in Korea as a soldier with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW, the Boston Patrolman’s Association and the South Boston Irish American Society. Most of all, he was a great Dad and loved being a grandfather.
