John E. Beaton

John E. Beaton of Weymouth, died September 22, 2018 after a long illness.

John was raised and educated in Boston and has lived in North Weymouth for over 50 years. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Northeastern University and earned a master’s degree in education from Boston State Teacher’s School. John worked as an accountant for the Department of Education for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was also a member of the Republican National Committee. John enjoyed going to the beach, hiking and relaxing to big band music. He will be dearly missed.  

Beloved husband of the late Norma J. (Lally) Beaton. Devoted father of Michael J. Beaton of North Weymouth and Karen E. Ward and her husband Jeff of Northern Virginia. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Ward of VA. Loving brother of the late Daniel Beaton, Robert Beaton and Ruth Messenheimer.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday 9 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).

Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Attn: Development, 875 N. Randolph St. Ste 225, Arlington, VA 22203.
