Morton, John Dwight, III of Hingham & Plymouth died Saturday January 26, 2008 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carole Percy Morton, his sister Ann Morton Bannister of Winchester, his brother Jeremy R. Morton, MD of Portland , ME, his late wife and mother of his children, the late Gloria Saber Morton, his four children Elizabeth Argeros of Beverly, Linda Christman, Ann Cahoon and John D. Morton, IV all of Hingham, his stepchildren Debra McManus of Sandwich and Arthur “Butch” Stivaletta of NH. He was a devoted grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 9 step grandchildren. Mr. Morton grew up in Weston, MA. He was educated at St., George’s School and Middlebury College. After College he joined the Marine Corps and was selected to lead the Marine Corps Drill Team in Washington D.C. Following his military obligation he pursued a life long career in sales, forming and thriving in his own agency, Morton Industrial Sales Corperation. Mr. Morton was an outgoing, kind and fun loving gentleman with many devoted friends and associated. His many passions include his devotion to family, work, golf and his community. Overall he “ran a first class operation” He will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4- 8 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Morton may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
