DeCelle, John E. “Jack” of Quincy, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024.
Jack enjoyed his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. He loved to taking daily walks around Quincy and surrounding towns. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting coins, reading, shooting, visiting town halls, and gardening. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the USS Yellowstone and USS McCaffery. He was a proud and independent man who liked doing his own thing. As he would always say, “my coffee is gone and so am I”.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Ekbom) DeCelle. Cherished father of Susan Stewart and her husband Robert of Brockton, Jack DeCelle and his wife Joanne of Randolph, Scott DeCelle and his husband Mark of Ogunquit, ME, Brian DeCelle and his husband Orlando of Brockton, and the late Cheryl DeCelle. Brother in-law to Raymond Ekbom. Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Gertrude and his brother Raymond DeCelle, and sisters Marjorie Cairns, and Carol DeCelle. Devoted Grampy to Jaimie Sarahs and her husband Jeff and Craig Stewart and his wife Katie and “Pa Jack” to Grace, Finley, and Sutton his favorite girls.
Services will be private. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plain VAMC Campus, ATTN: CDCE (135), 150 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
