John D. Burke

John D Burke of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester/South Boston, died April 15, 2017.

As a 16 year resident of Granite Place in Quincy, John was known for his volunteer work at his complex and throughout Quincy/Boston. His efforts brought him recognition from the Quincy City Council, Quincy Police Department and the Quincy Council of Aging. John was a proud recipient of the Francis Kearns Award for his contributions to the Kennedy Center.  He is a retired Teamster, member of K of C.

Husband to Joanne Burke. Father to Charles and his wife Mary, Ann Marie, and the late John Jr., Lisa, and, Mary Burke. Proud Grandfather to Timothy, Amanda and Jeffrey Burke. Brother to the late Helen Larson, the late Mary Flaherty, Daniel, Robert, Paul and Rita Burke. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 44 School Street, Quincy MA. Burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Massachusetts Center for Unexpected Infant and Child Death and the Jimmy Fund.
