John Robert Brady

John R. Brady, 86, of Hingham, retired MBTA accountant, former treasurer of Pyrotector, Inc., and former Hingham Selectman, died at home on August 22, 2024, surrounded by his large and loving family. 

 John is survived by Hannah Teresa Brady, his beloved wife of 62 years; by his five children, Deirdre Curtin (and her husband Chris of Waltham), Kerry Connolly (and her husband Mike of Scituate), Sean Brady of New York, Colleen Brady of Westport, and Maureen Falvey (and her husband Mark of Scituate); and by his fourteen grandchildren: Casey, Haley, Brendan, Rohan and CJ Curtin; Hannah, Tess and Brady Connolly; Nolan Kearney and Nora Brady; and Jack, Mark Jr., Charlotte and Elizabeth Falvey. Born and raised in Roslindale, John was the son of the late Eugene Brady and Nora Stack. He was the brother of the late Eugene, Richard, Mary (McAvoy), and James. 

 John was dedicated to public service; in addition to serving as Selectman in Hingham, he served as president of the Hingham Rotary Club, and as a member of the Whitman School Committee. John and his family often spent summers in Dennis, Mass as well as in his wife’s home village of Castlegregory, County Kerry, Ireland, making lifelong friendships in both places. 

 A wake will be held at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham, Friday, August 30, from 4 - 8 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Church in Hingham, Saturday, August 31, at 10 AM, followed by interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
