Gray, John B. “Jack” of Marion, formerly of Hingham & Charlestown, September 1, 2008. Beloved husband of 32 years to Mary (Marnon) Gray. Husband of the late Mary (Carroll) Gray. Loving father of Jane & husband Paul Mitchell of Hingham, Catherine & husband Mark Koran of Mattapoisett, Virginia & husband Michael Crisp of Hanson, Charles Neville & wife Kelly of Franklin, Richard Neville & wife Jennifer of Quincy, Denise & husband Tadhg Flaherty of Melrose, Mark Neville of Hingham, and John B. Gray, Jr. & wife Mary Ann of Hanson Brother of James Gray of Wilmington. Also lovingly survived by 16 grandchildren. Jack grew up in Charlestown, raised his family in Hingham and moved to Marian after retiring in 1991. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955 and was stationed in Vienna his first year. After turning eighteen, he was sent to fight in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the prestigious Combat Infantryman’s Badge. For 35 years, he worked at Brockway Smith Company (Brosco) and retired as the Director of Architectural Relations. In retirement Jack worked as a bus driver. He was a longtime Hingham Youth Hockey coach and enjoyed playing hockey himself into adulthood. He also enjoyed playing golf. Most of all, Jack enjoyed his family and will be remembered as a kind and giving person. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM, Friday at 10:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, 15 Green St., Charlestown, MA 02129.
