John E. Agnew

Mr. John E. Agnew, of Weymouth, formerly of Randolph, passed away suddenly in his home on April 5, 2025. He was 66.

John worked at Russelectric, a Siemens Company in Hingham for 27 years until retiring just last year. He was a dedicated worker who was admired by all of his coworkers. Prior to Siemen's, John was a longtime employee of both Atlantic Container and Quebecor (formerly Semline) in Braintree.

John was a friend to all overcoming obstacles in his life through his strength and strong faith in God. John was beloved and he will be immensely missed by his family and friends as he was an absolute joy to be around. An avid and loyal fan of the Boston sports teams, he especially enjoyed watching the Patriots and Bruins. John was well-read in many subjects. He could converse with a wealth of knowledge about anything from current events, politics to sports and everything else in between.

He was a great resource and if you ever needed to remember a date, event or someone's name, you could always call on John. He was always available to lend a hand whenever you needed him. He was a truly loyal brother, uncle and friend to all. John enjoyed the outdoors and his daily walks often covering many miles.

John has now reunited with his parents and beloved cat Dusty.

Born in Boston, the beloved son of the late Edwin and Rita (McNamara) Agnew, longtime resident of Weymouth John, grew up in the town of Randolph.

Beloved brother of Mary Freitas and her husband, Stephen, of Kingston, Barbara Moore of Milton, Michael Agnew and his wife, Karen, of Kingston, and Jeanne Murphy Gravina and her husband, Bill of Braintree and former brother-in-law of Mark Murphy and the late Paul Moore.
